SSID SettingsI'm configuring a dual-band wireless D-Link router with two wireless network
names (SSID) ... one for the 5GHz band, and the other for 2.4GHz. Right now my 5GHz band's name is "dlink_media" and I want to change it to have the same name as the 2.4GHz band. Can the SSID on both bands be the same? Is the 5GHz band mainly for "media" right now? I guess when Wireless-N @ 5GHz leaves 'beta' stage, I will know for sure. [Excessive crossposting removed]
What did D-Link Support suggest? Just go ahead and try. If it does not allow it, the router should inform you with its own user input error checking functions. Or if you don't want to risk it, contact D-Link support directly. __ http://www.bootstrike.com/ComputerService/ Singapore Computer Home Remote On-Site Repair Service Show quoteHide quote "Patrick Whittle" <patrick_whit***@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:ect247d%23JHA.5780@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > I'm configuring a dual-band wireless D-Link router with two wireless > network names (SSID) ... one for the 5GHz band, and the other for 2.4GHz. > Right now my 5GHz band's name is "dlink_media" and I want to change it to > have the same name as the 2.4GHz band.
