XP goes OUT of Hibernation BY IT SELF!

I set my XP (HPavillion) to hibernate but it insists on turning itself on
anyway! It usually takes about an hour or so for this to happen. I've tried
a number of steps recommended by HP (re-installing KB 909095) changing the
power options for the network adapter, and reinstalling the APCI hardware.
Still, no luck.

Out of Options?

Any ideas welcome,

Oreally
