Extended Desktop resettingI am having a few problems with the Extended Desktop feature. I have a laptop
that this connected to an LCD screen which is next to the laptop on the left had side. I have setup the extended desktop correctly and all works ok, the settings are held if I shutdown, restart etc. However, the moment I press CTRL ALT DEL and lock the laptop and then unlock the Windows desktop goes black then changes it's orientation so that the extended monitor display is now on the right hand side. This happens everytime CTRL ALT DEL is pressed. The graphics card is an ATI Radeon x1600. Dear Customer,
Thank you for your post. If I understand properly, you find that the position between the primary and secondary monitors changes after you lock and unlock the system. I did some research, and it seems that it is a known issue reported in the ATI release note and has been resolved in version 8.3. Therefore, I suggest that you install the latest driver for the display card and check the result. For your reference, here is the known issue mentioned in the release note: "Connecting multiple display devices no longer results in the primary, secondary and other monitors swapping positions within the Catalyst? Control Center. Further details can be found in topic number 737-32543." For more information: ATI Catalyst?
