Customize start menu most used programs

Crest Teethgel

I would like to set myself which programs are listed in:
START MENU most used programs.

There must be a counter somewhere that
reflects the use of these programs
and the rank in that list.

If i can change such a counter that
list will be under my control.

Start > Control Panel > Taskbar and Start Menu > Start Menu tab >
Customize button > Programs - Number of programs on Start menu > set to zero

Start > Help and Support > search for: Start menu > read 'Display a
program in the Start menu'

Further to Leonard's excellent answer, you can download TweakuiXP from
Microsoft, and use it to control what programs appear in the "Most
Frequently Used Programs" list.
