Optimized computer, but my themes are gone! Help!

I like simple looks to my computer, but I liked my silver XP look more than
the very bland Classic look. I downloaded and installed a computer optimizing
program and it made my computer a little faster, but it made everything look
really bland, I understand that lower graphics mean faster speeds but the
tiny amount of gain from the way windows looks isn't worth it to me. But the
program seems to have deleted the themes from my computer and not just change
them to bland, quicker loading graphics.

Is there a way I can download the original XP themes? I couldn't find it on
the windows site. Also, if theres a low requirement easy them pack site I
could use, that would be nice to. I tried windowblinds but it noticeably
slows my computer down, and I couldn't find a way to install and use the
themes I liked anyway. Any and all help and input would be greatly
appreciated.

There's no way to know what your "optimizing program" did - stay away
from that garbage.

Control Panel > Display > Themes tab > Windows XP theme. If that doesn't
work you may have to reinstall Windows.

You can find third-party themes on the web, but they're not supported so
if they mess up your computer you're on your own.

Check the following.

Go to the Control Panel and double click Administrative Tools.
In Administrative Tools, double click Services.
In the Services console, scroll down to Themes.
Right click on Themes and select Properties from the menu.
Make sure Startup type is set to Automatic.
Hit the Start button if the service is not started.
Click OK.

Good luck
