Moving the start menu/Task bar

Well, reinstalling the video driver helped us with the default windows
settings. (remembering characteristics when window paynes when closed).
Leonard Grey was right on the mark. Great job.

Now the issue is: We have laptops with an additional monitor. The customer
wants the task bar to be located on the exteral monitor rather than on the
laptop display. Again, all suggestion are greately appreciated.

Did you get hired as the IT support or is this a favor or... family hire?

Now is a great time to point you to one of the easiest ways to find
information on problems you may be having and solutions others have found:

Search using Google!

Select which monitor is the "Primary" in the settings (properties). It
should move the taskbar/etc to said monitor. If it does not - do it
manually (drag and drop like you would a Window "pane") and it should
remember it if properly docked/undocked.

Well, we (three of us IT staff) all with about 10 years experience each tried
those things mentioned in the sites over the past several weeks. Since it
appeared that we each spent several hours that maybe the task bar was
required to be on the laptop LCD. We were able to exactly what was indicated
using a desktop with dual screens without any issues. I just figured after
spending a total of about 5 hours between all of us on this customer's
request that it was time to see if someone with different experiences could
help us cut to the chace. However, I really do appreciate your suggestion
and tips on how to use google searches.

We found our answer. We ended up rebooting the system and discovered if
there were any applications running , the task bar would not move. Once we
closed all applications we were able to move the task bar without any issues.
