How to change a .flv video file to view in WMP;I have this small video file I got from online (nevermind what it is), it's
just that I need to figure out how to change it from .flv to .wmv; but I think I do not have the right or enough codec's on my pc (I have WMP 10, don't want anything else). I need to 'have my WMP's back', and to do so, I need to give it what it needs to play what I want; right? Fine. I can change the file's extension to .wmv, BUT, WMP doesn't have the right amount of codec's, misc, nor (installed stuff) on my pc, to be prepped and ready for me, whenever I need it to be. I'm good techie, but not that good. jeffreydavidmor***@myway.com (please be direct, to the point and know your stuff . . . thank you). -- I''m either away from a computer right now or ''in the field''. Meantime, feel free to visit me on my website: http://www.jeffreydavidmorris.com Thank you again, and have a nice day.

I don't get it, nor do I need to have > my email be complicated or exhibit like I'm with the secret Penagon > or something. jeffreydavidmorr***@myway.com The point is simple. If you post your actual email address on these newsgroups, the odds are your email address will be harvested by bots and crawlers of all sorts and that you will end up on many mailing lists you did not intend to. You will likely increase the amount of spam you get. For example - the email address I use, unmunged, is not used for anything else. It is not advertised anywhere else. However - the amount of spam it gets weekly is astounding. A similar address I setup at the same time but have given to practically *no one* gets *zero* spam. These addresses are of the same age with the same extension, one has only been used here and one has not been advertised in any manner. The latter gets zero spam, the former gets approximately 3000 spam messages each 30 days. I have *no doubt* of the reason. To answer your original question... Get "SUPER"... http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Downloading it is the hardest part - really - I'm not making that up. It is really a frustrating product to get downloaded from the site. hah As for the multi-posting instead of cross-posting. Yeah. Annoying. http://groups.google.com/groups/search?as_epq=How+to+change+a+.flv+video+file+to+view+in+WMP&num=100 http://videohelp.com/ -> learn to love this site if you are a videophile. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html I use the program SUPER to convert any file. You can do what you want. It's
free. I don't use Windows Media Player to play anything ever. Instead I use Media Player Classic. I also have CCCP installed (Combined Community Codec Pack). This one website you can enter a link from any website, it will download the video to it's server, convert the video, and then let you download it in whatever format you choose out of one or two options. I am not sure how many websites it works with, but I've used it to download videos and music. It's pretty fast too. install into matrix of Windows Media Player, thus, to merely play any file extension of video, whether from Microsoft download's, or safely from elsewhere online, is that too much to ask?
