Change folder in Windows Explorer via Start | Right mouseHow can I change the folder that is opened when starting Windows Explorer
through the (right mouse) context menu on the Start button? This defaults to the user's Start Menu. I guess this question must have been asked before, but I cannot find a thread here... Thanx in advance, Geert-Jan G'Day GJ,
The PURPOSE of 'Explore' on the Start button Context Menu is specifically to EXPLORE the START MENU! It is not a general 'opener' for Windows Explorer! -- Show quoteHide quoteRegards, Pat Garard Melbourne, Australia _______________________ "Geert-Jan" <Geert-***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1C67D604-A31B-48EE-A946-E0A5F87BB8BB@microsoft.com... > How can I change the folder that is opened when starting Windows Explorer > through the (right mouse) context menu on the Start button? I know that this is a special way of using the Explorer. But there must be a tweak to this behaviour... the location of the icon that you right clicked on. I usually right-click "My Computer" and explore, it expands My Computer and shows all your drives and desktop items. You could also create a desktop shortcut for explorer, and add the path to the folder you want to open - i.e. if the shortcut is to c:\windows\system32\explorer.exe "c:\program files" (using quotes because of the space), that shortcut would launch explorer opening up the contents of your program files folder.
